YouTube, MySpace abuse copyright
September 15, 2006 – 2:29 pmLooks like Universal Music group may try to sue YouTube and MySpace. Personally I think it’s pretty ridiculous seeing as artists benefit from people adding their songs etc to MySpace pages and YouTube. Free advertising right? Maybe they decided it might be easier to sue these billion dollar companies instead of trying to strong arm private citizens?
“We believe these new businesses are copyright infringers and owe us tens of millions of dollars,” Universal Music CEO Doug Morris told investors Wednesday at a conference in Pasadena. “How we deal with these companies will be revealed shortly.”
